2019 Awards Dinner

The Council Awards program represents a global benchmark of excellence for those working in our industry which honours and recognises 12 individuals and companies who have been at the heart of frontier plays and some of the world’s largest discoveries. These executives, and their businesses, have grown economies, created employment and continue to change the face of the oil & gas industry.

The Aim


The Council Awards program honours and recognises those in our industry, who have created companies, been at the heart of frontier plays and some of the world’s largest discoveries. These people and their businesses have grown economies, created employment and encouraged thousands.

Judging Criteria


The Council’s Judging Panel, representing all aspects and regions of our Industry, take part in our selection process each year. The process remains 100% independent, impartial and with no payment by any organisation or outside individual. The decisions made by our panel are final.

2019 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

We are delighted to announce that our 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award of Excellence Winner, and Patron of the Awards of Excellence, is Ivor Orchard, Executive Chairman, Kerogen Capital.

Mr. Orchard has over 40 years’ experience in oil and gas spanning private equity, investment banking and managerial roles in the industry. Prior to founding Kerogen in 2007 as a private equity fund manager specialising in upstream oil and gas, he spent 20 years in energy and natural resources investment banking, principally at J.P. Morgan, where he was Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Group in Asia Pacific, and earlier at CS First Boston as a director in Australia and New Zealand. Read full bio
