Executive Interviews

Seven Energy is an independent Nigerian integrated natural gas development, production and distribution Group with a unique focus on the emerging Nigerian domestic gas market. The south east Niger Delta is where we have our flagship gas infrastructure business.
Our members have taken strong actions in light of both the activity reductions and price reduction pressures from the buyers. They have seen significant job losses and during this year we have experienced four of our members merging into two.
Low prices are nothing new. A year ago oil prices were nearly double today’s, but 10 years ago, they were around $45. In other words, similar to now! As the late baseball great, Yogi Berra, put it – “déjà vu all over again”.
Our objective is to make Total more resilient and more efficient every day, regardless of the circumstances, and to take advantage of this period of low prices to emerge stronger than ever. We are responding to this low price context with significant efforts, mainly by reducing Capex, cutting costs, voluntarily constraining the exploration budget while at the same time maintaining our portfolio management activity and all without ever compromising safety.
