In 2017, the Gas-to-Power World Congress brought over 330 delegates from every continent, to Cape Town, to discuss core issues facing Gas-to-Power around the world. Opened by the Honourable Mmamoloko Nkhensani Kubayi, Minister of Energy for the Republic of South Africa who updated the audience on South Africa’s Gas-to-Power programme, the Congress saw 46 senior executives from along the whole power generation value chain, including governments, off takers, developers, gas upstream suppliers, utilities, EPC Companies, and financiers participate in nine panel sessions of critical discussions. Projects from across Africa were presented and valuable lessons learned were shared. Extended networking breaks and private meeting rooms allowed for targeted deal making and strengthening of networks.

Building on the success of the 2017 Congress, the 2018 Gas-to-Power World Congress will be moving to Singapore where you can expect a continuation of the critical discussions in front of an even more global audience. "Thanks to the Energy Council for a successful conference. The success of the panel discussion format really depends on the quality of the panellists, and the relevance and topicality of the subject matter, all of which were excellent.  The ground is shifting in the global gas industry, especially regarding gas to power in developing markets and Africa in particular. Events like this are important for bringing stakeholders together, and help unlock the benefits that development of such projects can bring, so thanks are due to the Energy Council for this.”
Andrew Fisher, Senior Associate, The Energy Contract Company

"Well done on an exceptionally organised and very interesting Gas-to-Power World Congress this year. You had the key players on the stage and in the room and it was great to have the opportunity to discuss projects and network face-to-face. I learned a lot and made some great new contacts."
Henry Camp, Partner, ERM

"You only need to make one really good connection to make this  event worthwhile -  and I have made 8 at this event.”
Edwin Ehrlich, Business Development, Quantum Power

“The World Gas to Power Council was valuable for us to attend, since all main stakeholders, both public and private, for the African gas to power space were present, and we appreciated the format of the conference, having relatively informal panel discussions that allowed interactive discussion on the topics rather than formalized presentations. We will certainly be back next year.”
Dominic Jose Goncalves, VP Business Development (South Africa), Abengoa

"The Gas-to-Power World Congress is a special occasion gathering players in both upstream gas and downstream together, hence a good opportunity to meet the related industry players sharing thoughts on combined complexities for new investments."
Maarten van der Horst, Head of Business Development, Africa, ENGIE

"Thank you for inviting me to moderate the panel on finance and investment at the Gas-to-Power World Congress. I am still in discussions with my fellow panellists so it continues to produce results for me, post congress.”
