Role in EY
Alfredo is a Tax Partner at the Mexico City and New York Offices. He is currently the leader of the Energy Segment for Latin America North, with his leadership role covering EY Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia.
Before joining EY, Alfredo was a partner at Deloitte's Mexico City offices. At Deloitte, he gained significant experience through the following leadership roles that he held: Leader of International Taxes for Mexico and the Latin America Region, Leader of Clients and Markets for Tax in Mexico and Latin America, and Leader of Tax for the Energy and Natural Resources Industry.

Alfredo advises Mexican and multinational companies on international tax matters involving a wide range of transactions. Alfredo currently coordinates EY's entire service portfolio for the Firm’s Energy segment clients.

Alfredo is a public accountant with an accounting degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
Alfredo has been president of the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives (IMEF) and he is frequently quoted by newspapers and magazines as an expert on matters related to energy. His insight can be found in a number of prestigious publications, including Reforma newspaper, El Financiero , Expansión magazine, and Bloomberg TV, among others.
Alfredo actively participates in various key industry events in Mexico and abroad and he is a knowledge leader on current industry matters. His areas of expertise cover the three main sectors of the segment: Oil and Gas, Power and Utilities, and Mining and Metals.
